A critical issue is to be decided
A critical issue is to be decided, how will it affect you? Thanks to the help of wildlife supporters like you, we are pressuring key Members of Congress to protect our nation's greatest wildlife sanctuary. Together we are telling them to say "No!" to Big Oil and its supporters in Congress. But this fight will be tough, and we still need your help…
Help save America's polar bears, arctic foxes and caribou. Please make an emergency donation right now to help us stop harmful drilling in our Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Your donations are making a difference. Today, wildlife supporters in key Congressional districts in New Jersey opened their morning newspapers to find ads urging them to call their Members of Congress (view these ads on our website).
Next week, we’ll begin running television ads. We're also placing banner ads online and organizing grassroots support. With your help, we’re letting key Representatives know that the Arctic Refuge is worth protecting.
Please help us get the word out! Make a charitable gift to our campaign now…
Time is running out to save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Sometime next week, the House of Representatives is scheduled to begin final work on its Budget Reconciliation Bill that could legalize drilling in one of our country’s last great wild places.
Worse, some Members of Congress are exploiting the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes to press for harmful drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. But America shouldn’t sacrifice this national treasure for the penny they may be able to save on a gallon of gasoline twenty years from now. It’s not worth it!
If Congress allows drilling in the Arctic Refuge, polar bears could abandon their cubs. Crucial habitat for migratory birds could be disrupted. And the chances that we’ll see another Exxon Valdez-style catastrophe would skyrocket.
Since last Thursday, wildlife supporters like you have donated almost $40,000 to help support our work to protect the polar bears, caribou and millions of migratory birds that live in this spectacular area. Now we’re counting on you to help us meet our goal of $55,000 by the end of this week. It will take at least that much to get the word out where it counts.
If you have already given, please forward this message to your friends, neighbors and anyone else who can help us win this fight.
Any additional funds will help fund our fight for the Arctic Refuge in the House and prepare for the battle in the Senate. Make a special tax-deductible contribution online now.
I want to thank you for everything you’ve done so far to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and encourage you to keep fighting. You and I both know that this special place and the wildlife that lives there is worth protecting, not only for us but also for our children and grandchildren. We must save the Arctic Refuge. I know that, together, we can!
