For better or worse, impeachment is out there. The Democratic consultants and leadership can't "un-ring" this bell. It's not up to them to determine whether or not impeachment / accountability will be an issue in the 2006 election. It already is. As for the base, we've clearly made the decision: Pushing for investigations, exposure, censure and - yes, even impeachment - of this extremely partisan Republican Administration will help Democrats win elections. It's also simply the only moral, ethical, patriotic course.
This isn't partisan politics. Fundamentally, this is Constitutional Law and Criminal Law. This administration assails our basic values and notoriously attacks the Constitution. They run roughshod over the Separation of Powers. They sneeringly dismiss the Bill of Rights and the Congress.

Wear Orange on Fridays
An informal email poll among peace and anti-war email groups March 7-12 elicited 55 positive responses and two negative ones for the proposal for a campaign to wear a particular color one day of the week to show support for impeachment.
The results of the poll so far favor Orange and Friday. So we are initiating a campaign asking people to wear something orange on Friday - whether shirt, pants, scarf shoes, ribbon, lapel pin, or wrist band.
